The DISCOVERY PROJECT is useful for organizations seeking deeper understanding about the cultural, demographic, geographic, political, personal and financial forces at work that impact program outcomes. It can be helpful to:

• Nonprofits that are at a turning point in their work.

• Coalitions that typically include stakeholders from different sectors who may have different expectations and assumptions of what needs to be accomplished to be successful.

• School districts who are thinking about starting a planning process for the arts. It can be a useful pre-planning tool to ascertain feasibility.

STRATEGIC AND SCENARIO PLANNING endeavors to chart a course for the future by identifying strategies that will enable long-term success.

The process includes:

• A review of current programs and assets

• Development of a vision for the future

• Identification of delivery or resource gaps between the current program and vision

• Articulation of strategic goals, measurable objectives, timelines, persons accountable, and resources required to address the gaps in order to achieve the desired vision
